FAQs

What kinds of therapy do you offer?

I offer general psychotherapy for individuals and couples+, sex therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). My approach integrates evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, collaborative style to support emotional healing and personal growth.

How do I know which type of therapy is right for me?

During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, concerns, and preferences. From there, I’ll recommend an approach—or a combination—that best fits your needs and we will work together to tailor the work to your goals.

What can I expect in a therapy session?

Sessions are typically 45 minutes long and focused on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to explore your experiences. Together, we’ll identify patterns, develop insight, and build skills to help you move toward meaningful change.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, only psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners can prescribe medications.  We can assess whether medication may be appropriate for you, and if requested, I can provide referrals to a prescriber.

What is sex therapy?

Sex therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that addresses sexual concerns, intimacy issues, or relationship challenges. It can help with topics such as desire discrepancies, communication, sexual function, and healing from shame or trauma.

Do I need to be in a relationship to benefit from sex therapy?

Not at all. Whether you’re single, partnered, or exploring your identity, sex therapy can help you cultivate a healthier and more fulfilling relationship with sexuality and intimacy.

What is ketamine-assisted psychotherapy?

KAP is a therapeutic process that combines the use of ketamine—a legal, FDA-approved medication—with psychotherapy. Ketamine can facilitate deep introspection and emotional processing, helping individuals work through depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health challenges.

How does KAP work?

Ketamine is administered in a controlled, safe setting while you are supported by a trained therapist. The experience can enhance neuroplasticity and help access insights that may not surface in traditional talk therapy. Integration sessions afterward help you make sense of and apply those insights to your daily life.

Is KAP right for me?

KAP may be appropriate if you’ve found limited relief from traditional therapy or medication. We’ll begin with a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether it’s a good fit for you.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance or work directly with insurance companies. However, I can provide a “superbill” you can submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What are your session fees?

Session fees vary depending on the type and length of service. Please contact me directly for current rates. Limited sliding scale options may be available for those in need.

How do payments work?

Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can book a consultation through the contact form on this website or by emailing me directly. I offer a free 15-minute phone or Zoom consultation to help determine if we’re a good fit.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients located in New York and New Jersey. Some services, such as ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, are only available in person.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments are billed at the full session rate.
