About Diana Nikkhah, LMSW, CST
I’m a certified Sex Therapist (The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, NYC) with additional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (Fluence, Journey Clinical). I provide a supportive, client-centered experience that fosters personal growth, healing, and deeper self-understanding.
My practice focuses on helping individuals and couples navigate depression, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, infidelity and issues related to sex and intimacy. I also work with polycules and specialize in care for people living with HIV.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, with the intention of reducing fear, shame, and judgment. I strive to create an affirming, inclusive space where all aspects of your identity and experience are welcome — including those related to sexuality, gender, kink, and non-monogamy.
In addition to psychotherapy, I offer relationship coaching, premarital counseling, conscious uncoupling, and mediation services. Whether you're looking to heal, grow, or reconnect with your sense of peace and pleasure, I aim to provide you with tools and skills you can continue to use long after our work together.
In addition to individual work, I also facilitate therapy groups focused on intimacy, communication, and self-awareness in relationships.
Education & Professional Background
My path to psychotherapy was shaped by a deep interest in storytelling, identity, and social justice.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University, where I served on the board of CannaHealth — a student organization focused on the intersection of cannabis, health, policy, and social justice. I am also certified in Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI), which allows me to supervise and mentor social work interns in clinical settings.
Before transitioning to mental health, I had a career in journalism, working across broadcast news, print, and digital media. I hold a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia Journalism School and a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from Barnard College.
